Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Available for Massage Therapists

Since massage therapy and aromatherapy are modalities that work so well together, Aroma Hut Institute offers continuing education units (CEUs) as an approved continuing education provider through the (NCBTMB) National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. By providing high-quality continuing education courses that will enhance a practitioner’s career, Aroma Hut is committed to making sure the student has the most current and reliable research available. The breakdown for courses offering CEUs is as follows:

As of January 1, 2013, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) credentials have changed. National Certification has now been retired and replaced with the new credential called Board Certification for massage therapists.

Educational Requirements to become NCBTMB Board Certified Massage Therapist

To meet the educational requirements to become Board Certified, you must obtain 750 hours of total education. If you are currently Nationally Certified and you already have 750 hours, no additional hours are required at this time. If you do not have the minimum 750 hours of education, you will need to obtain the extra hours necessary to reach the 750 hours, of which you can obtain up to 270+ hours with our aromatherapy certification program!

To help you fulfill this educational requirement, we’re offering huge savings on our courses. Our online courses vary in the number of CEUs earned. Please review each course for more information.

If You are Already NCBTMB Board Certified:

It is our current understanding that for Board Certification renewal the NCBTMB requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours every 2 years. Of the 24 CE hours, 3 CE hours must be in research and 3 CE hours must be in ethics. Only 4 CE hours can be in self-care.

In order to meet the requirements set by NAHA (National Association Holistic Aromatherapy), you will need to complete both levels 1 and 2 to call yourself a certified aromatherapist and use the initials “CA” behind your name. As a graduate of the Aroma Hut Institute’s Aromatherapy Certification Program, you will qualify to join NAHA or AIA as a professional member.

In addition, graduates will be eligible to receive liability insurance for your practice. Students enrolled in the Doterra Aromatherapy Certification Program or Aromatherapy Certification Level 1 program at Aroma Hut Institute may join NAHA as a Level 1: NAHA Certified Level 1 Aromatherapist® and AIA as an Associate Member. Students that graduate from Level 2 may join NAHA as a Level 2: NAHA Certified Professional Aromatherapist®.

Aroma Hut Institute’s certification program incorporates a personally-tailored curriculum that will best prepare a student to further their educational and professional advancement as a Certified Aromatherapist. Upon completion of Aroma Hut Institute’s aromatherapy certification program, a graduate may choose to continue with the Teacher Training program that provides “private label” courses for a graduate to use as fit for teaching aromatherapy classes or start an Aroma Hut Institute franchise.
